lyrics

All my life the real poetry was untouchable
Drawing boxes in the sky wondering where I could go
But now back home, it’s either moonshine or the coalmine
Daddy worked his fingers to the bone, but he never made a dime

And the preacher would tell us hold on to shaded pastures
But the world kept spinning round faster and faster
And I would sit in my room and play my guitar
And wonder why things are the way they are

But I held on waiting for my train
And you come along like a driving rain

You taught me how to love, how to love myself
And all this hurt would lead to somewheres else
And some things are worth believing in even when they don’t prove true
To expect the unexpected, and just to pray my way through

When all my muses could no longer inspire
You come along like a burning fire

Until now, the poetry was untouchable

Anthony Leon Eustis, Florida

Anthony Leon is a ‘two steppin’, head bangin’ songbird. An energetic rock‘n’roll poet with a penchant for words and a passion for story – fancy boots, and a PBR t-shirt, a loose tongue and impressive side burns, driving 5 under on the highway with the windows down and the radio blaring. Anthony Leon is a storyteller, weaving his sermon of love and loss, feast & famine in with your own. . ... more
