You’re my latest addition to a long list of addictions
This crazy attraction is major distraction
Girl you’re all I can think about
I’m punching the clock right at 8 sharp
And I’m hearing the boss man going tick-tock
Lord oh Lord, when can I take her out?
And take her to the honky-tonk, we’ll dance all night
I’ll take her to the honky-tonk, I’ll do it right
Put your boots and your best dress on we’re going out tonight
Now I know a place right down on the lake
They got two dollar beers and the bands really great
We can get lost in love under those neon lights
we can two-step or slow dance if you’re in the mood for romance
and when the night is over we can walk out to the water
and maybe you’ll let me steal a kiss goodnight
Let’s go to the honky-tonk, we’ll dance all night
I’ll take you to the honky-tonk, I’ll do it right
Put your boots and your best dress on we’re going out tonight

Save Me
01:46
|

I only curse when I’m drinking
I only drink when I’m sinking
I only sink when I’m thinking
I thinking of you all night long
I only smoke in the morning
Sometime late at night
Usually when I’m nervous
Baby come hold me tight
COME ON AND SAVE ME, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF
You’re the kind of girl I’d like to meet wild as honey but oh so sweet
you’d think you’d mind if I had a seat I’m the king of this bar do you wanna be my queen?
I only drink beer when I’m lonely
I’m so lonesome I could cry
I only drink whiskey when the beer stops working
Woman please ease my worried mind
COME ON AND SAVE ME, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF
You’re the kind of girl I’d like to meet wild as honey but oh so sweet
you’d think you’d mind if I had a seat I’m the king of this bar do you wanna be my queen?
I only get crazy on the holidays
But every day is my birthday
I’m like 40 going on 13
Momma please take me home
COME ON AND SAVE ME, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF
COME ON AND SAVE ME, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF
COME ON AND SAVE ME, SAVE ME FROM MYSELF

Thinking
02:20
|

Thinking in the morning thinking in the night
Thinking when I’m sleeping think it’d be alright
Thinking about the money thinking about the rent
Thank the good lord my life ain’t spent yet
Thinking about tomorrow thinking about today
Thinking happy hour is just another hour away
Thinking that I’m crazy for thinking the way I do
Cause whenever I ain’t thinking I’m thinking about you
Thinking about you
Thinking about the this thinking about the that
Thinking if I had me a bigger hat
Take all these thoughts and tuck away
Maybe I could write a book someday
But who am I and what do I know
A six pack beer and a pack of Marlboros
and if I could get you to hold me tight
Thinkin that’s enough to get us through the night
And when you get so close to me
You just set my mind at ease
Ain’t nothing I really need merrily, merrily Life ain’t but a dream
Thinking in the morning thinking in the night
Thinking when I’m sleeping think it’d be alright
Thinking about the money thinking about the rent
Thank the good lord my life ain’t spent yet
Thinking about tomorrow thinking about today
Thinking happy hour is just another hour away
Thinking that I’m crazy for thinking the way I do
Cause whenever I ain’t thinking I’m thinking about you

Dead River
02:06
|
|||
Down the road past rose’s orange grove there’s a tiny little shack where my story unfolds
About the day I met Satan’s daughter in that cursed Florida black water
She caught me by surprise by the side of the road
I yelled is there some place you need to go
She said I ain’t going nowhere but if you want to accompany me
I have some things I think you might like to see
If to the swamp you must go
There’s some things you need to know
Dancing with the dead is the greatest thrill
But if the devil don’t get you the mosquitoes will
Whatever you do boy, whatever you do boy, whatever you do boy
Don’t jump in Dead River
She led me to dock surrounded by a swampy sea, the smell of death and cypress trees
She said it’s hot we should go for a swim, then she took off her clothes and she jumped right in
I didn’t know what to do
I’d rather stick to water that was blue
But the mosquitoes we’re eating me alive
So I took off my clothes and I went for a dive
If to the swamp you must go
There’s some things you need to know
Dancing with the dead is the greatest thrill
But if the devil don’t get you the mosquitoes will
Whatever you do boy, whatever you do boy, whatever you do boy
Don’t jump in Dead River
The water felt good but was as dark as could be
So I pulled my head up so that I could see
I looked for the girl but to my surprise
A grinning gator staring in me in my eyes
If to the swamp you must go
There’s some things you need to know
Dancing with the dead is the greatest thrill
But if the devil don’t get you the mosquitoes will
Whatever you do boy, whatever you do boy, whatever you do boy
Don’t jump in Dead River

When I Fall
02:43
|
|||
When I was a child
I dreamed so big and wild
I felt like I could reach out and touch the stars
But life has her own way
Of kicking dirt in your face
And leaving you with a heart marked and scarred
So don’t tell me you love
If you really don’t mean it
Stars fall from the sky
I telling you I’ve seen it
And who’s going to catch me when I fall
I’ve seen ol’ Merle before he died
I teared up when he played mama tried
And all of the crowd went wild
But the green grass of home
Where those still waters start to flow
And grace leads you into the night
So don’t tell me you love
If you really don’t mean it
Stars fall from the sky
I telling you I’ve seen it
And who’s going to catch me when I fall

Better than Whiskey
02:27
|
|||
Well I lived this life of rock n roll
Lost everything save my soul
Fell on my face a thousand times are more
I never thought I could have it so good
Even when you’re living up in Hollywood
There’s a lot of things a man shouldn’t & should go without
Fighting through all these fears and doubts
Looking for a reason to put this bottle down
Well you know what I found out
She’s better than the whiskey
Better than a bottle and summer breeze
When I bring her to my lips
She’s brings me to my knees
So go and kiss me
Let’s get drunk on what could be
A Fantasy of her and me a place I’d rather be
Yeah she’s better than the whiskey
Some old man told when I was young
Better watch that stuff you putting on your tongue
And don’t you ever tell a woman you love her less you mean it
Cause your hands and feet well they lose count
And before you know it you’re an old man now
And you don’t want to wake up to a life of regret
Cause when you meet that someone and she gets you good
You start thinking of things you wish you would
Should have thought about…
She’s better than the whiskey
Better than a bottle and summer breeze
When I bring her to my lips
She’s brings me to my knees
So go and kiss me
Let’s get drunk on what could be
A Fantasy of her and me a place I’d rather be
Yeah she’s better than the whiskey

1000 Miles Away
02:51
|
|||
Me and your momma never got along good
She didn’t like my dreams of Hollywood
Lord knows I did all I could
But things don’t always work out the way they should
Sometimes there nothing you can do
Sometimes there nothing left to say
Sometimes you feel so close
But your still a thousand miles away
So I spent some time down in Austin
I spent some time in Tennessee
I couldn’t get enough of those bright lights
But they had enough of me
So here I am homeless on Division
Wondering who I am
And I haven’t heard the sound of my voice in so long
I’ve never been so scared
Sometimes you get luckey
And sometime it just ain’t your day
Sometimes you can get so close
But still be a thousand miles away
So yeah I’m down here in Florida
Drinking beer at a bar off some canal
I hear you’re in Jersey
Why you outta be 16 by now
Sometimes there nothing you can do
Sometimes there nothing left to say
Sometimes you feel so close
But your still a thousand miles away
Sometimes you get luckey
And sometime it just ain’t your day
Sometimes you can get so close
But still be a thousand miles away

Our Front Porch
03:34
|
|||
A good long talk
A first kiss goodnight
It’s good to see you
And some long goodbyes
A bull frog choir
With a Cricket orchestra
The moonlight on the mire
And the stars right there for us
And when the rain comes down
And the thunders roar
We have each other
And shelter from the storm
On our front porch
No place I’d rather be
Sitting right there beside you
Sitting there beside me
But it made you feel lonely
When you were sitting there next to me
And now you’re off somewhere else
But do you think to yourself
That when the rains came down
And the thunders roared
We had each other
What more could you ask for
Then our front porch
No place I’d rather be
Sitting right there beside you
Sitting there beside me
And when your rain comes down
And your thunders roar
I’ll be right here waiting
On our front porch
On our porch

Alibis & Lullabies
03:17
|
|||
I wonder if you ever think of me
As you lay your head down to sleep
Tell me am I ever in your dreams
I guess nothing is ever really what it seems
And how do you sleep at night with your Alibi’s as Lullabies
I close my eyes with no relief
Every word you said racing through my mind
And all the times that I believed
So angry I’d believe one more time
And how do you sleep at night with your Alibi’s as Lullabies
You know
That I know
You a damn lie
Tell me do you ever think of me
As you lay your head down to sleep
Because through your window I can see
The very one that lied to me

No Words
02:04
|

i could write a hundred songs
about getting drunk and being wrong
getting wild and starting fights
drinking beer beer and staying up all night
I could write a long book
about a cold hard look
of bad boy gone good
making up the time the best he could
But There's ... no words to define it
There's no words ... to describe it
There's no words that could say ... Baby what you do for me every day
i could write a thousand lines
about pickup trucks and pick up lines
cute short shorts and hair ties
boots and jeans that fit just right
Oh I could write a catchy phrase
'bout how life was good in my younger days
or 'bout the high times that goes so fast
and the good times that never last
But There's ... no words to define it
There's no words ... to describe it
There's no words that could say ... Baby what you do for me every day
BUT honky tonks filled with smoke
getting lit and taking tokes
could never compare to loving you
But There's ... no words to define it
There's no words ... to describe it
There's no words that could say ... Baby what you do for me every day

I still believe
04:17
|
|||
Some of us already know
Some of us have to be told
Some of us still have our doubts
Some of us have too much fun
Some of us gets things done
Some of us are just kicked about
Some of hide who we are
While some of us shine like stars
And some of us burn out
Some of us will sleep tight
Some of us are up all night
And some of us have no place to lay down
I still believe there's something bigger than you and me, and love is all we need!
I still believe that the stones cry out and speak that love is all we need!
Some of us are already there
Some of us just don’t care
Some of us have a long way to go
Some of us got big plans
Some of us got a best friend
Some of us are all alone
Some of us work real hard
Pushing it too far
And still feel left in the cold
Some of us do what’s right
Some of us put up a fight
Some of us do what we are told
I still believe there's something bigger than you and me, and love is all we need!
I still believe that the stones cry out and speak that love is all we need!
I can change the world a little at a time
All it takes is to just be kind
Some of us already know
Some of us have to be told
Some of us still have our doubts

Who will sing for me
02:31
|
|||
Oft I sing for my friends
When death's cold hand I see
When I reach my journey's end
Who will sing one song for me
I wonder (I wonder) who
Will sing (will sing) for me
When I'm called to cross that silent sea
Who will sing for me
So I'll sing 'til the end
Contented I will be
Assured that some friends
Will sing one song for me
I wonder (I wonder) who
Will sing (will sing) for me
When I'm called to cross that silent sea
Who will sing for me
